VIVEK JALAN

Vivek Jalan is a Chartered Accountant & a qualified L.LM & LL.B. He is the Founder & Partner of Tax Connect Advisory Services LLP. He is the Chairman of The Indirect Tax Core Group of The Confederation of Indian Industries – EAC(ER). He is the Chairman of The Fiscal Affairs Committee of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is the Member of The Managing Committee of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He is a regular Columnist and guest expert in Economic Times, Business Standard, Times of India, Dalal Street Journal, Money Control, Live mint, CNBC, Hindustan Times, Zee Business, Financial Express, other dailies and business magazines like Business Today, etc. He is also a guest expert on Taxation matters in All India Radio and other media platforms. He is the Editor of Weekly Bulletin TAX CONNECT, a publication on Direct and Indirect Taxes which reaches more than 70000 professionals.

He is also a visiting faculty in The Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), The Institute Of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, The Indian Chamber of Commerce, The Merchant Chamber of Commerce and other Business Forums. He has also delivered Lectures at various Government Taxation Forums including the CGST & SGST Departments across the country.

He has worked as a Finance Manager in ITC Ltd. and Chief Compliance Officer with IntraSoft Technologies Ltd. He has more than 18 years of experience in the field of Information Technology, Finance, Taxation and Logistcs. He was also an All India Rank holder in CA Final Examination conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

BIKRAMJIT GHOSH [FCA, B.Com (H)]

Mr Bikramjit Ghosh is the Partner of Affari Management Consulting LLP .
Mr. Ghosh has rich experience of working for 35 years in Project Management, Finance, Accounts, Audit, Taxation, Commercial, Insurance, Contract management, Legal & Corporate Affairs, Corporate management and administration. The last 22 years of this long work experience was with a large “Multinational group”,  “World Leaders” in EPC project management for Steel industry.  He held the position of “CFO”, “Executive Director – Finance, Legal and Corporate Affairs” and “Joint Managing Director“ at various stages of his long association with the Company. Mr. Ghosh joined the “Wholly owned” Indian subsidiary of the multinational group almost at the inception of the Indian Company and has been one of the key persons in transforming the Company to a big EPC Company serving Indian and foreign customers in the Steel industry. This includes setting up of a big manufacturing facility of the group in India and aligning the process, systems, risk management, control mechanism of the Indian subsidiary with that of the group. Mr. Ghosh has wide exposure and experience in managing large EPC contracts all through i.e. during commercial negotiation, execution, contract closure procedures including claim management, settlement of commercial & contractual disputes through amicable discussion and / or by invoking contractual disputes resolution mechanism. He had active interaction with various Indian as well as Foreign customers including Government customers, various Government authorities, Banks and FIs for mobilizing financial resources including project finance and credit guarantee coverage for export projects.
Mr. Ghosh is an active participant in various “Chamber of Commerce” activities and is serving as member of different sub-committees of the chambers.

He is an expert at dealing in Freight Forwarding, Customs Broking, Total Logistics, DGFT and Indirect Tax. He has actively Participated in preparing Union Budget on Customs Matter.

RISHABH JAIN [FCA, CFA, B.COM(H)]

Rishabh Jain is the Partner (Direct Taxes) of Tax Connect.

Mr. Rishabh Jain is a Member of the Institute Of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), and a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst, (CFA, USA). He is a member of The Ease of Doing Business Committee of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce. He has worked in the transaction tax department of EY, and was involved in the structuring and implementation of amalgamation/ merger of MNC’s as well as Indian companies. Having a deep understanding in the field of finance, he has advised clients on various issues of capital management, taxations matters, mergers and amalgamations, anti dumping duty matters and various investments matters.
He has successfully structured deals for various e-commerce companies helping them acquiring funding in a most tax efficient manner. He is a regular speaker and moderator in various sessions in various Chambers of Commerce.
He has advised clients on various taxation, accounting, budgeting, restructuring exercise, legal compliances in the iron casting industry, glassware industry, printing and packaging units to name a few.

ADVOCATE PRADIP KUMAR DAS[MA LL.B; Adv Supreme Court & High Courts; Ex-Member CESTAT]

Shri Pradip Kumar Das passed M.A, LL.B. from Calcutta University. In 1986, he joined in Calcutta High Court as a practicing advocate and is also appearing before other High Courts, Tribunals and Supreme Court and has acquired a thorough Knowledge in Writ matters, GST Matters, Revenue, Banking Laws, & Other matters.
CESTAT was set up in 1982. In 2006, Shri Das was selected as Member (Judicial) of CESTAT from West Bengal for the first time, by a Selection Committee headed by the then Hon’ble Justice S.H.Kapadia (as His Lordship was) of Supreme Court of India and worked at Delhi, Chennai and Ahmedabad Bench, and also participated in Larger Bench, Anti-Dumping Bench etc. The Hon’ble Justice Raghuram Goda, former judge of Andhra Pradesh High Court and former President of CESTAT was pleased to observe that his judgements are precise, clinically analysed and the facets of law and facts relevant to the issue on hand considered comprehensively and with due fidelity to the discipline of precedents.
After retirement in 2016, Shri Das started practice in High Courts, Supreme Court of India, mainly dealing with Writ matters, GST Matters, Revenue and Banking (IBC, SARFAESI, DRT ) Laws and Arbitration matters amongst others.
